How do I shrink my desktop backround picture to fit on the screen right?

I have a jpeg picture saved in my files that I selected as my desktop backround. When I go into Control Panel, Display properties, Desktop, and select the Position, Stretch is the only way to get the entire picture on the screen but it’s all "stretched" out to the sides and distorted. If I select Center or Tile Position it is giant and only fits a small portion of the pic on the screen. Please help!

The problem is not the size of your pic, it’s the dimensions proportion. It’s taller than it is wide, right?

You’re going to have to edit, crop actually, to make it roughly 4:3, or 16:9 if you have a wide-screen monitor. So use an image editor program to crop the top and/or bottom of the pic. Paint is already on your computer, altho it’s kind of hard to use.

How do i fix a sheilding problem on my Ashton guitar that uses a double humbuckers system.?

, problem stops when i touch the pick-up, Never happened when i bought it, Local guys not interested in fixing it. Dont care if there is a little noise, just want a quick fix to bring the volume level of the buzz down. When i turn the tone knob to zero problem, goes away. Can i just line the pick-up pots with alfoil or paint it with something?

You may not believe it could be this simple, but make sure you are not using an unshielded speaker cable somewhere in your signal route. They have to all be shielded instrument cables. Problem is, they look exactly the same. Trial and error time! Hope this helps.

Whats the best for a laptop? Where are the good deals?

March 12010

I’m kinda done with my dell. It’s given me so many issues. What is the most efficient, best brand that i should/can choose from for laptops? Also, where can i get the best deals for the best brand?

There are many great laptops for low prices. But it depends on what you’re looking for in a computer. I would greatly recommend any computer made by Sony, especially the Sony VAIO NW series. They have a stylish look, but they also have great memory, durability, fast processors, and cool tools. Like someone already answered, the Apple Macs are the best brand but are really expensive. I’d say Sony comes in second when it comes to efficiency. I wouldn’t get HP because they tend to have a glossy finish, which makes them fingerprint magnets. Also, they wear out very fast.

Is it a problem if the condensing unit of a central heating and air system has frozen up?

The outside unit that is. It has iced up on inside of the outer vents on all sides, except above the fan. The weather has been around the mid 40s to the mid 30s. Is this a problem? Can this be easily fixed?

Yes, it certainly IS a problem. First of all, why would you have the AC on if the weather outside is in the 30’s and 40’s? At any rate, both the condenser and evaporator are where all the heat transfer takes place. The refrigerant (not freon…freon is a company name much like calling an adjustable wrench a crescent wrench) expands as it absorbs heat in the evaporator then gives up the heat in the condenser. Generally the air coming from a condensing unit is warm, but with it being that cold out it’s probably drawing moisture into the condenser and then freezing. Keep your evaporator filter changed also. If you see frosting on the evaporator coils, it’s a sign that either your filter needs changing, you are low on refrigerant, or it could possibly be your metering device (usually a capillary tube or tev). Hope that helps you.
