What is the cheapest place to buy a laptop? please help as i m not so up to date with new laptop deals.?

Is it Dell or Pc world or Currys. I checked all those websites but they have different laptops for the same prize. My budget is 600 to 630 pounds. I need the fastest laptop with good picture quality and sound. of cuz for that prize range.
My current pc’s RAM is 256 and it takes hours to browse and listen to music at the same time.

I work for an IT company and we’re currently pushing Samsung products. I use a Samsung laptop myself (I’ve had it for almost a year) and it’s great, not had any problems with it. They’re reasonably priced too. Lovely clear screen, quick, good battery life (2.5 to 3 hours). The sound is good but not what you’d get from a decent set of speakers. It’s unlikely you’ll find a laptop with amazing sound quality.

If you want it to be fast I’d go with something like a Core 2 Duo processor or better, rather than a Celeron or Dual Core, and if it’s Windows 7 then you need 4GB RAM, but can get away with 3GB.

If you don’t mind buying online, then I’d go to Misco. You can get a Samsung R580 with a Core i3 Processor, 3GB RAM, 320GB HDD and Windows 7 Home Premium for £552.24. As long as you don’t mind it in black and red.

The HP ProBook 4510s is also quite a nice laptop, with a glossy black finish. Misco do a few different ones, all different specs. Just search for "HP 4510s". These normally come with 7 Professional, though I believe a couple come with 7 Home Premium, but some of the Professional models have the XP Pro downgrade discs, which is good if you’d rather stick with XP.

If you’d rather buy in store then I’d go with Comet, or maybe Curry’s. PC World seems to be run by kids who don’t know anything about computers, that’s assuming you can even find someone to help you!
Even better, go to your local IT company, they’ll generally have more time to sit with you to work out the most suitable laptop for your needs that will fit your budget. Plus, if you have any problems later on they’ll most likely be a lot more helpful!

Oh, and avoid brands like Acer, and other cheap brands, their laptops aren’t too great. Dell’s lower end products aren’t great either. We always have something with a Dell badge on our workbench!
