Firstview Electronic HK Limited is showing what may be one of the worlds cheapest laptops, it runs Android on a low cost and low power VIA 8505 ARM based 533Mhz processor, with 128MB RAM, 2GB Nand flash, 7″ 800×480 screen, WiFi, SD card reader, 3G dongle support. It’s supposed to run 4 hours on a 2100mah battery, it loads websites slower than a more expensive computer, but it can be made for only $65 in the Chinese factories when ordered by big resellers in large quantities.

I have a Compaq Presario V2000 and the dc jack has become loose and can no longer be charged. I don’t want to pay to get it fixed because there’s a chance that it may be irreparable. For a similar amount of money, I think I can find a used laptop to just put my hard drive into. So does anyone know what other laptops are compatible with my hard drive?
Just find out whether the hard drive is IDE or SATA. Then buy an used laptop that fits IDE or SATA.
I go over some issues that the latest laptops from Apple have experienced and why you shouldn’t worry.

Hi, I have 2 laptops and I’m looking to transfer files between the two. I bought a crossover cable. I just need to know the procedure to allow me to hook the two up and how to transfer files.
If anyone has a procedure or a link to a good description on how to do this it would be much appreciated.
Thanks
usually you would connect them with a RED cable, not yellow – yellow cables are commonly straight through cables designed for connecting pc’s/routers to switches
youve purchased the correct cable and all you have to do is plug one end of the cable into an Ethernet port on one computer and the other end of the cable into your second computers Ethernet port.
If you have windows XP, make sure the network settings allow the computers to see each other. To do this, set the ip addresses statically on both computers
start > settings/control panel > network connections > Local arean connection > properties > find internet protocol (tcp/ip) under the general tab > properties > click "use the following ip address" check button
computer 1
ip: 192.168.0.1
sub: 255.255.255.0
gateway: – (leave blank)
computer 2
ip: 192.168.0.2
sub: 255.255.255.0
gateway: – (leave blank)
ensure both computers are on the same workgroup
right click "my computer" > properties > "computer name" tab > rename this computer click "change" button make sure the workgroups are the same on both computers
last of all, share a folder on one of the computers
if you have any trouble let me know

Well, I just bought two HP laptops for my nieces, one somewhat of an older version than the other, but both are new. My Belkin router is compatible with only one of them wirelessly, however (the older version). How do I make it compatible to both?
Are you just not seeing the router? The standards have not changed enough over the last year that anything should be amuck from that stand point. If you scan from either PC do they both see your SSID of the router? Next, do you have security enabled like WEP or WPA? You will have to configure the properties of the new wireless connection to include that. Finally, if all of that is right, do you have dhcp enabled and enough addresses in the router config? Most of the time 50 is the default number so that would be an odd thing unless you remember specifically doing it.
This is a worlds first video-review of an ARM9 Powered Android Laptop, the PWS700CA by Shenzhen based Hivision, find more info at: http://hvsco.com/ProductsView.asp?articleid=789
It is based on a Rockchip RK2808 600mhz ARM926 processor, 128SDRAM, 7″ 800×480 screen, 720p Video playback support, WiFi, Ethernet, audio input/output and weights only 650grams.
The price has not yet been announced officially because Hivision is looking for worldwide distributors of this product, who will then decide how much it will be sold for to end consumers. But you can understand that if Hivision was able to sell those types of laptops for $98 more than a year ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKQbN6tpYXw, then surely the price has not gone up since then, at least if you consider what might be the manufacturing costs when this Laptop would be mass manufactured. My guess is that if a giant consumer electronics retailer like Amazon, Walmart or Best Buy approached Hivision to order high quantities of this laptop, it could be sold even below $99 to end users.
