We have three laptops, all are connected to the Internet thought a wireless router. We all have auto IPs generated in the same range with the same gateway. Why we connect to each other laptops? I tired to ping, but other laptops are unreachable when pinged. Am trying to get them connected to each others, not only to the Internet, so we can play game.
Thanks for your help
Someone advised about editing the host file. what should I exactly do?

Whats resolving your Ping request…. DNS??? no because its within the network… and your network isn’t a Fully Qualified Domain Name…

Use your host files then Ping will work…

But you don’t need Ping to do LAN Play… Yours still on the same network…

I’m planning to buy a good gaming laptop. I’m crazy about gaming. I use complete games like "Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood" in three days. I’m confused about the fact that are laptops good for gaming in long run. I want to play games on my laptop exclusively and offcourse it will have a good graphic memory and other things like a gaming pc. Will it create problem to the laptop like – overheating, hanging etc. ? pc. Will it create problem to the laptop like – overheating, hanging etc. ?

All laptops have the same problem… they get very hot very quick. Electrical components give off latent heat. In a regular PC, fans push cold air in and hot air out and cases often have a lot of space between components for heat to dissipate. Laptops are designed to be slim and portable which means many components are squished very close together. As a result, heat has nowhere to go. Even the best gaming laptops will eventually fall victim to heating issues. If you got something like a lap cooler that would help but if you are really this adamant about gaming you should probably look into a gaming rig rather than a laptop, even if it is rated for gaming.

You may never get a hangup or a stall due to heat but you will probably get very uncomfortable playing long sessions. Laptops often heat up the most on the bottom and along the wrist pad, both areas where skin often comes into contact with the laptop.

Its a Compaq laptop bout 2 years old if it helps.

That setting is usually applied within the Router.

So for example type… 192.168.0.1 (Or 1.1) In the Address bar..

Then use the name and pass off the router to log in..

Then locate and alter the Security WEP Settings.

Hope it helps

I was wondering what happens to these and whether I’d be able to ask to take them. Several of the computers I’ve seen have been like Mac-book Airs, Dell Alienwares and some touch screen all-in-ones. I know they probably are broken but I could put the parts to good use. Do you know if it’s allowed or would I have to pay?

You Have not stated who your hoping to get them off.

Your best bet would probably be just to ask them

They may Differ from place to place so just ask them all.
(Some may say no, Others may give you them for a fee)

Any ideas on how i could resolve this problem?

Two of your devices are trying to use the same IP address. When a windows computer detects that, it shuts the TCP/ip interface down on both devices.

Make sure all of your devices are set to accept autoconfiguration (in control panel/devices/network/wireless interface/ipv4 properties.

How do I begin? What are some important points to consider before beginning to write? What are the most important features of such electronics that should be included? How do I make the writings engaging and interesting from the readers point of view. Product descriptions are usually boring, what can I do to make the reader sit up and take note?

For writting description for your laptops first be careful to choose the content which must be unique from other.Add the brand name of company in description.give the proper or right information about your product and service.

Thanks guys, but anything else apart from virus?

Viruses are the biggest risk. At one place I worked, an IT guy who should have known better plugged in his laptop. Ten minutes later, every single computer at the company was infected with the Welchia virus. We had to close the company for two days to repair all of those computers.

What are the best laptops for college students?
I’m going to college in the fall and started laptop shopping. My school has no specific model I need to get. Just the basics every college student would need. But I’ve been looking and no laptops seem to come with a full version of Microsoft Office they all offer trials. Also I don’t want to spend much more than $600 if possible. Thank you so much!

Honestly, any laptop is fine. A lot of people seems to have this notion that "brand X" is better, but the bottomline is, they’re ALL essentially the same. Nearly all laptops are made in China and their hardware most likely comes from the same factory and vendor (CPU: Intel or AMD; RAM: Hynix, Samsung, Elpida, etc.; Video card: Intel, AMD (ATI), or Nvidia; Motherboard: Foxconn or Asus)

Also, if you do not want to pay for Microsoft Office or any word processing software, there are some free alternatives such as OpenOffice. Open Office is a 100% free and open source word processing suite.
