I am really knuckling down at school now and getting all my work done and I need a reasonably cheap, new laptop that is a good brand. Can anyone recommend a website/shop that will sell something like what I am looking for?

   I wish I had a toshiba, instead I got an HP. We just bought my 80 year old mom a toshiba for her birthday and it’s very nice. It was under 500 and we got it at Bestbuy. We decided on the toshiba because they don’t all come with dia lup modems and she has to have dial up. It is very nice.

   Cheap and laptop don’t go together much.

   But, if it is necessary, may I recommend researching the item before purchase.

   what you want:
   2.8ghz or more
   2gb ram (preferably, but as low as 512mb will get the job done)
   Well designed! Check where the fans are, don’t want it overheating
   XP preferably, vista is very buggy, you can also try for windows 7
   What I recommend:
   Dells
   HP
   take a virtual tour of them, LOOK WHERE THE FANS ARE ; if they are on the ground, don’t even bother with the computer.
