Check Dell they have coupons and deals going on all the time. Their prices are about the best for a budget model. Check out the E1505 Intel or 1501 AMD.
Well, if you are on a tight budget, I would suggest you go on Dell.com. Right now, they have a sale going on the Inspiron XPS notebooks, which are considered very good laptops (I checked reviews on CNET). So the discount they offer is that if you open a Dell Preferred Account (their credit card), you will have 12 months to pay them back, with no interest charged. However, you will have to pay the entire balance within the year. Otherwise, interest charges will accrue from the date of purchase. I think it is a good deal since it gives one the possibility to spread the payments. DON"T GO WITH THEIR MONTHLY PAYMENT VALUE. IT"S GONNA BE TOO LOW and you won’t be able to pay it in a year. The sale ends JUNE, 27 2007. I got myself the XPS M1210, with few upgrades and it costs less than $1200. Also, they will take out an extra $40 if you are a student and you make the purchase through your school member ID. References : http://www.dell.com, http://www.cnet.com
