How do I connect my desktop computer to the internet with a wireless router?
I have a Windows XP desktop computer. I also have a work laptop i bought a modem for. How do I I connect my desktop to the internet with the router. (laptop is XP too) step by step instructions please!!!

I take it your PC is wireless? Anyway, your wilan will pick up wireless networks within distance. You click on your router name and enter the network key usually found on the back of your router then it should connect.

If it doesn’t connect or say acquiring network address or limited to no connectivity then you have to configure settings.

What happens when you do the above???

Above are a couple examples of wireless adapters for desktop, one USB and one PCI card. The router manual will have step by step instructions on configuring the wireless setup.

Some laptops can use a mini PCI-Express card for wireless.
