@stargater94 Actually GNOME and KDE are VERY different. Even down to the way you use the OS. But it is similar to the Windows Distros in KDE and GNOME have different ways to do things and it depends on what purpose you wish to use it for.

Assuming you’re referring to KDE, then personally, I HATE KDE…. looks too Vista-ish :/… the freaking default theme is called “Oxygen” (Aero much?)…
As for XFCE or LXDE, too light-weight (I cant believe how much I missed Fedora 12 GNOME after using Fedora 12 LXDE spin…)

the GNU GPL says that you CAN sell your Modified works as long as their under GPL.
Though i never thought about the fact that it is under a license and cannot be re-licensed… i guess your right! MS cannot steal for that reason.
BUT can’t microsoft and apple make quatz and Aero like this, but use a different method to composite???

@jmans25 I believe it’s so long as the copying does not then make a profit, i.e. you can’t steal compiz and start selling it. Could be wrong, but either way, MS can’t re-license it meaning it’ll always be available for free elsewhere.
