the the best virtual desktop manager I found that works in Windows Vista XP and 200o is Dexpot. Is can also do the mac’s expose function by going to settings>controls>Miscellaneous>Window catalog and Window catalog (Active application).Also it can give you a full screen preview with all the with all the windows expose. only drawback not drag and drop of windows from one desktop to the other.

deskscapes (yodm 3d) tried it on vista but still takes cpu and alot of ram… vista & virtual desktops seems ok, ist not as smooth either (takes much less cpu and ram tho)..gonna try virtua win
