Is it possible to buy new modern laptop parts for a Acer Aspire 1350?
October 142009
I recently bought a new Dell computer, which has obviously made my laptop redundant. I was told from one of my mates that because of new shapes of motherboards/RAM etc it wont fit into my laptop as it is 6 years old. Can someone help me, it seems such a waste!!!
Hi, Being a laptop some of the components are specially made for it so these cannot be easily upgraded/replaced. However, some components are generic in design and thses can be upgraded quite easily. Such items as optical drives and RAM modules fall into this category and can be usefully upgraded (to add Blu-Ray for example), or to add more processing capability.
The big problem with laptops is graphics which are integrated onto the motherboard and these cannot easily be upgraded.

It’s a lot harder to upgrade laptops than Desktop computers. If it’s 6 years old there’s not much chance of upgrading it unless you want to spend more than it’s worth.
