@RowanTolley02 The …
@RowanTolley02 The price will be the worst point of going overboard. You want a PSU that will have extra juice for the future, but not too much so that it will cost you more to run it, or heat up your case more than necessary. Search for “PSU calculator” to get a better idea of what your wattage needs are.

@hicksx6 I don’t …
@hicksx6 I don’t know of any place available to help you build a computer. You can go to a shop and have them build a custom one for you, but its usually hands off for the buyer until its complete. There are plenty of sources of info to help you pick the parts and build it yourself.

The parts used in …
The parts used in this video are old. At the time, the ATI cards really sucked and the AMD CPU ran faster than the Intel’s. Of course I would not recommend these parts today, but the installation instructions may help people new to building which is the purpose of the tutorial. But thanks, lol!

Now, in my opinion …
Now, in my opinion if you’re building a rig like this, you should get an Antec 902 case. Great airflow, looks cool, and has a lot of room inside. This is from my personal expirenece I’ve got from bulding my newest rig.

You should be fine. …
You should be fine. The older AMD boards that support AM2 and AM3 processors sometimes need bios updates to support newer processors. That board is a AM3 board, so it should support your 550 with no problem.

I need a little …
I need a little help. I couldn’t help but notice how you talked about how a processor and mother board are not always compatible. I am ordering a new custom made computer, and I have chosen the following: an AMD Phenom II X2 Dual Core 550 3.1Ghz 7mb Cache – Black Edition for the CPU and a Gigabyte GA-MA785GMT-UD2H AMD Mainboard for the motherboard. I am really not sure what I am looking at, but would these two work together?

They are pretty …
They are pretty standard. You may find the connectors are in different spots on different boards, but a quick look at the manual should clear things up for you.

hey , I’ve never built a PC, but I’m terrified when I look at so many wires
I know different motherboards will have different plugs, but is the basics (power, LED, etc etc) same ?

Exactly! Split the …
Exactly! Split the load to the different +12V rails. The PSU’s with one large +12V rail don’t need to be split up, you can plug everything in with whatever cables you want.
