Trust me, I know. I live in Sweden. If you want to get an MRI scan for a bad back, you need to wait for 5 months. If you have ulcers, it takes over a month to get the right medicine. HDI means high welfare and high taxes, not quality of life. As for your other comment: during the 1970s, many of our biggest industries neared collapse, like in England. Same in the US. I’m not saying Reagan was perfect, but he came to power because the reigning system was corrupt and bloated.

Both times conservative thought and dergulation were dominant. We (the US) have averaged around #13 on the human development index, yet we have the most money in the world while the countries above us are the far left European countries such as Sweden.
