got a refurbished laptop a year ago, and it’s still going strong!

generally i’d say they are better as the bugs have already been ironed out. If a PC is likely to go wrong it will do so quite quickly.
Most of them come with a return to base garuntee anyway.

No. In fact, they’re likely to last longer.
This is because the units are individually handled, rebuilt to "like new" condition with new factory materials, and tested for functionality before being remarketed as "refurbished".
Just make sure that the people who are advertising their wares as "refurbished" are truly refurbished. A lot of moronic vendors on places like ebay seem to think "refurbished" is synonymous with "used" or "cleaned up".

I agree with the other postings. I have a theory about refurbished products in general. They were most likely returned under warranty which makes them less than a year old. Whatever was wrong has been fixed. Hopefully it was given the once over by quality control. With the exception of some minor cosmetic issues it might be better than new. I would just make sure you get a 1 year warranty. Hope this helps. Good Luck with your future purchase.

I bought a refurbished acer laptop and it had problems, but it was under 1 year warranty and is now fine.
